Cleveland: Home to Professional Sports and Fans Who Love Them
Cleveland, Ohio is home to many talented sports teams. It is no coincidence that people say “Cleveland rocks.” There are five sports with professional teams represented in Cleveland- baseball, basketball, football, hockey, and soccer.
The Cleveland Indians are an official Major League Baseball team. They have recently seen significant success by making it to the World Series in 2016 and going on a hot winning streak in 2017.
Basketball is taken very seriously by locals in Cleveland and the Cavaliers are their home team. The team won the championship in 2016 but has made the Finals many times.
The Cleveland Browns are the local football team. It was established in 1945 and has been a crowd favorite for many years despite never played it or won a Superbowl. They have four NFL Championships under their belts from their first decade in the NFL.
Winter sports are appreciated in the Midwest. Cleveland is home to the Monsters, a National Hockey League team. In 2016 the Monsters took home their first championship in the Calder Cup.
Established in 2011, AFC Cleveland makes professional soccer fun and exciting. The team is part of the National Premier Soccer League.
